Iranian ambassador to the UK Seyed Ali Mousavi and Laura Kuenssberg

The Iranian ambassador to the UK has dismissed claims that Tehran poses any threat to Britain.

It comes after Donald Trump joined Israel in attacking the Middle East country and struck Iran’s three nuclear facilities overnight.

The US president said Iran needs to either start negotiating over its nuclear capabilities or the States would launch further strikes.

The UK was not involved in these attacks but it was given advance notice, according to the cabinet minister Jonathan Reynolds.

He also warned that Iranian nuclear developments would be a “direct threat to the United Kingdom”.

But speaking on BBC One’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, the Iranian ambassador Seyed Ali Mousavi played down the threat Iran might pose.
