28 Years Later has wound up becoming one of the biggest movie events of 2025.

But whether you were already a fan of Danny Boyle’s apocalyptic horror series, or 28 Weeks Later was your first brush with the “infected”, you might well now be finding yourself wanting to dive back into the rest of the films in the franchise.

As the name suggests, the first movie in the series, 28 Days Later, begins just shy of a month after the outbreak of a virus that’s turning the British population into zombie-like creatures called the “infected”.

Cillian Murphy takes the lead in this first movie as bike courier Jim, who wakes up from a coma to discover the country has been swept by the so-called “rage virus”, and is left fighting for his survival, alongside a cast that also includes Naomie Harris, Brendan Gleeson and Christopher Eccleston.
