La Voix and Claudia Winkleman during Saturday night's Strictly Come Dancing live show

Over the weekend, we launched our earnest campaign to try and get Strictly Come Dancing favourite La Voix appointed as one of the new hosts of the show ahead of the impending departures of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

And it seems the woman herself is pretty keen on the idea, too.

During Saturday night’s live show, the Drag Race UK finalist approached Claudia during one of her live links, quipping: “While I’ve got you, do you know the address where you send your CV to the BBC, just in case there’s any new jobs coming up…?”

As the rest of the cast (including Claudia) broke down into laughter, La Voix continued: “I’m just asking for a friend.”

Claudia then took La Voix – who was dressed as Cher at the time in honour of “Icons week” – by the hand and implored her to “give it a go, babe”, at which point the queen looked dramatically to the camera and declared: “...Tess!”

And clearly we weren’t the only ones impressed by La Voix’s impromptu “audition”...
