Former Eurovision champion Nemo has announced they are returning the trophy they received for winning the contest last year, in light of the recent decision about Israel’s involvement in the contest.

Since winning Eurovision in 2024, Nemo has repeatedly spoken out against Israel’s participation due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, telling HuffPost UK ahead of this year’s contest: “Israel’s actions are fundamentally at odds with the values that Eurovision claims to uphold – peace, unity and respect for human rights.”
