The race for this year's Christmas number one is officially on

With just days to go until this year’s Christmas number one is announced, it looks like Wham!’s hit Last Christmas may well have to settle for this year’s festive silver medal.

In both 2023 and 2024, Last Christmas topped the Christmas chart in the UK, making music history as the first song to do so in two consecutive years.

However, Kylie Minogue could be standing in the way of the song pulling off the hat-trick.

Kylie’s latest festive effort, the Amazon Music exclusive XMAS, is currently on course to be named the Christmas number one, according to new data.
