Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce’s father is sharing new details about his son’s sweet engagement to Taylor Swift, which the couple announced in a joint Instagram post Tuesday.

Ed Kelce – in an interview with Cleveland’s ABC affiliate News 5 – revealed that his son proposed to the pop star at a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, just over two weeks ago, a little over two years after they began dating.

“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’” Ed Kelce said.

“They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”
