I consider myself pretty diligent about sunscreen.
I wear it every day, even when it’s grey outside – I don’t substitute proper suncream for supposedly sun-blocking makeup, which dermatologists advise against, and I use a surely overqualified SPF 70.
But according to a recent Instagram Reel from Dr Neal Rimmer, a senior scientific adviser for consumer advocacy publication Which?, I’m still doing it wrong (sigh).
Sharing his five tips for using sunscreen properly, the expert said: “I would never scrimp on the amount of suncream I need to apply.”
How much do we really need?
Per the pro, “The amount you need for the whole body is essentially seven teaspoons worth; one for the face, head and neck, each arm and leg, and one for your front and your back.”
