Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan and Harris Dickinson will play The Beatles in Sam Mendes' new films

When news first broke of not one but four new films about The Beatles, attention almost immediately went to who would be playing the Fab Four in the films.

Director Sam Mendes – the Oscar-winning director behind films like American Beauty, Skyfall and 1917 – is set to tell the story of each member of the seminal group in the ambitious project, which will see all four movies being released simultaneously in April 2028.

Paul broke out in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Normal People, before going on to pick up critical acclaim through his heartbreaking performances in Aftersun and All Of Us Strangers.

The Oscar nominee has already fed us bits and pieces about how he’s getting into character as his Beatles namesake, including learning to play the guitar lefthanded and singing the iconic Beatles song Blackbird alongside Macca himself.

Harris Dickinson

Also claiming a leading spot in the Beatles line-up is Harris Dickinson, who’ll play John Lennon.

Following his major breakout role in 2022 satirical black comedy film Triangle Of Sadness, the London-born actor more recently starred opposite Nicole Kidman in erotic thriller
