Should heirs get inheritance before or after you die? Two reasons to wait.

Q. I have a mutual fund account that I want to leave to my youngest grandsons, who are 2 and 4 years old. I am 88, and I want them to get the money when they turn 21. I am thinking of using a Uniform Gifts to Minors Account which ends at age 21. Is it better to do this now using the maximum lifetime gift, or should I spell it out in my will for my executor to do? Any transfer tax issues to consider?
A. It is better to make the gift in your will for two reasons. First, you may need the money, and second, you may change your mind.
But if you want to make the gift now, you can certainly do........
