300,000 Black women out of work should be a signal to all Texans

The news that 300,000 Black women left their jobs or were forced out of the workforce in the last three months was lost between last month's devastating Central Texas Floods and Trump's catastrophic spending bill.

Several media outlets reported the staggering number, but there wasn't much buzz about it.

Forbes attributed the figure to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which compiles data on employment rates. Now the unemployment rate for Black women is 6 %, twice the rate as for white workers, according to the Texas-based 19th News. It is clear that unemployment among Black women is increasing faster than any other group.
