This past week, I had the pleasure of attending a Glen Scotia preview event for the Campbeltown Malts Festival which is taking place during the week commencing May 19.

Campbeltown was once the whisky capital of the world, but now only three distilleries remain in the area: Glen Scotia, Springbank and Glengyle. However, this is set to change in the coming years with several new additions.

The new distilleries Machrihanish, Witchburn and Dal Riata have already been announced and I am very interested to see what impact they will have on the area.
