It's time to finally end the misery of greyhound racing
The life of racing greyhounds is one of abject misery. Bred to race, they are exploited for their speed and then cruelly cast aside when no longer profitable. These gentle, loving dogs deserve so much better, they deserve to live the same life as the majority of other dogs, who are cared for and loved as family friends. If greyhounds were poodles, would such treatment ever have been tolerated?
An American invention, US tracks were first approved by desperate local governments looking for new forms of revenue during the Great Depression. Now, more than 100 years later, this antiquated activity continues in multiple countries – despite the financial losses it brings and the documented harm it visits on innocent hounds.
