It is paradoxical to observe the Congress high command's lack of initiative and clear priorities which is evident from its failure to reconstitute the Himachal Pradesh Congress state executive—a task left in limbo for over three and a half months. This indecision has plunged the state unit into a state of inertia. A similar complacent attitude is apparent in other states as well, underscoring the urgent need for action if the Congress hopes to take on the BJP, which boasts disciplined cadres, the extensive organizational machinery of the RSS, vast resources, and the round-the-clock leadership of Narendra Modi.

Purpose of the recent AICC Reshuffle: Strengthening Regional Leadership:

The reshuffle is aimed at empowering regional leaders by appointing secretaries who understand the nuances of local politics. This move seeks to decentralize decision-making and give more authority to state-level leaders to counter the BJP's cadre-driven model.

OBC Outreach: The Congress has increasingly realized the importance of wooing the OBC vote bank, especially after the BJP's success in consolidating this demographic.
