When Gods Don’t Give Gifts opens in U.S. theaters on October 30, the most interesting question will be whether Zack London’s online audience buys tickets to follow his work into theaters.

The anthology feature, produced by Fable and directed by Zack London (better known as Gossip Goblin), extends the creator's existing science fiction universe, the Second Cycle of Humanity, into theaters. Fable describes it as the first feature built with AI and aimed at a ticket-buying public.

Edward Saatchi, CEO of Fable, says London's official audience across YouTube and Instagram exceeds 600 million views, rising to nearly one billion including reposts.

The film, which Saatchi calls “a low-budget indie,” is set in a science-fiction and horror-tinged future where bodies can be upgraded, memories bought and sold and consciousness transferred between forms. Its four stories follow characters using those technologies to satisfy familiar human desires, even as the distinction between body and mind begins to erode.

Production is complete, with the film now in post-production as the team adjusts its audio for theatrical release. Saatchi said in an email that theaters are already lined up.
