Forbes Daily: Judge Blocks Trump’s National Guard Deployment To Portland
A prenuptial agreement has traditionally been the domain of wealthy couples who are about to say “I do.” But as more couples are seeking to protect their assets, tech startup Hello Prenup is capturing a slice of that growing market.
The website allows couples to draft and sign a prenup in around 90 minutes without a lawyer—charging $599 per couple for its standard service and just under $2,000 if they want to add attorney representation.
Founder and CEO Julia Rodgers at first couldn't find traction for the idea, but an appearance on Shark Tank in 2021 changed the company’s fortunes, and Forbes now values the firm at $140 million.
A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump Administration from sending any National Guard troops to Oregon, after the president attempted to deploy members of the California and Texas National Guard in Portland in an apparent bid to circumvent an earlier order halting the deployment of the Oregon National Guard. On Saturday, Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut said that Trump’s claims about Portland being “war-ravaged” were disconnected from the facts on the ground.
Investors and state government officials are pushing back against Tesla’s proposed compensation package for CEO Elon Musk that could eventually amount to $1 trillion. In a letter, they urged shareholders to vote against the proposal at the company’s annual shareholder meeting next month, and accused the board of harming Tesla’s reputation in their “relentless pursuit of retaining” Musk.
