PMOI/MEK Resistance Units in Zahedan held public activities on July 31 to mark the anniversary of the 1988 massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners, defying regime threats and executions.

Activists linked the 1988 killings to today’s ongoing struggle, condemning current executions of protesters and regime members while rejecting both clerical rule and any return to monarchy under the slogan “Neither Shah nor mullahs.”

The actions emphasize that the Iranian people’s organized resistance will continue until a democratic republic is established, regardless of the regime’s foreign conflicts or nuclear posture.

On July 31, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units in the southeastern city of Zahedan resumed their weekly public activities, defying the Iranian regime’s pervasive apparatus of execution and suppression.

Marking the anniversary of the 1988 massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners, the activists took to public spaces despite intense threats from state security forces.
