I. Succession of Ali Khamenei
According to several sources, the Iranian regime has reportedly established a three-member council to succeed the late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
The council is said to consist of:– Massoud Pezeshkian, the current President.– Mohseni Ejei, Head of the Judiciary.– Alireza Arafi, Director of the religious seminaries and member of the Guardian Council.
Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) for the transitional period, stated:
“The death of Khamenei signifies the end of the religious dictatorship and the rule of the Supreme Leader.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran, based on its ten-point plan aimed at transferring sovereignty to the Iranian people, has proclaimed a provisional government. The announcement of a provisional government dates back to October 1981.”
II. Death of Senior Regime Officials in the Bombings
The regime’s official broadcasting agency (IRIB) announced on March 1 that the following figures were reportedly killed in U.S. and Israeli strikes:
– Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces;– Mohammad Pakpour, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC);– Ali Shamkhani, advisor to the Commander-in-Chief and Secretary of the Defense Council;– Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support.
In addition, according to media outlets close to the regime, Rezaeian, head of the Law Enforcement Intelligence Organization, was also reportedly killed.
Information circulated on Telegram further claims that Hanieh Mohammad Baseri, a senior official within the Ministry of Intelligence, also lost his life.
The ILNA news agency also reported that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, former president of the regime, was killed in the bombings.
