Chrystia Freeland needs to resign, immediately, as the Member of Parliament for University-Rosedale in Toronto. No one can serve two masters, but with her appointment by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “as an Advisor on Economic Development” she simply has to leave her current post.

Freeland has been the MP for University-Rosedale since 2015 and spent most of the past decade in cabinet, even spending five years as Deputy PM. In September she announced that she was stepping down from her latest portfolio as Transportation Minister and would take on a role as Canada’s special representative on the reconstruction of Ukraine.
