This all began late Wednesday afternoon when I double-checked the official record of some jousting in the Alberta legislature between Premier Danielle Smith and NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi.

The back-and-forth happened Tuesday and I’d watched it on TV and I was just making sure the quotations from both leaders were accurate.
It was then I ran across a snippet of the Smith-Nenshi debate I’d somehow missed jotting down.
It changed my column writing plans entirely.
