Viktorija Tupko, who runs the International Food Store on Upper Olland Street in Bungay, installed the shutters after taking over the lease of the premises last year.

She did so without permission from East Suffolk Council.

It then led to an attempt by her to secure retrospective permission on the basis that she needed the shutters to protect her stock from thieves.

However it was turned down with the council calling the protection measures "alien".
