The Windmill Care Home Ltd in Rollesby, near Great Yarmouth, has been rated inadequate by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after an inspection in May found failings across all areas of care.

The watchdog confirmed it had carried out the inspection in response to a "serious incident" following a woman in her 90s dying after an alleged assault by another resident.

Hazel Roberts, CQC deputy director of adult social care in the East of England, said: "When we inspected The Windmill Care Home, we found that people weren’t receiving the standard of care they deserved.
