200 people protest asylum seeker plan for former military base
The demonstration took place on Sunday, June 28, amid proposals to convert the former military base into asylum accommodation.
The protest began around 11.50am and grew steadily over the course of the afternoon. By 3pm, the crowd had reached approximately 200 people.
Police were on the scene, based over the Norfolk boarder in Suffolk, close to Thetford, to support organisers and ensure the event remained peaceful.
Planning permission is being submitted to transform the military........
