Norfolk school hosts 'inspirational' festival of musical talent
Hosted at Springwood High School in King’s Lynn, the Music for Youth Regional Festival featured more than 20 ensembles from across the region, with each group performing three pieces.
Springwood, part of the West Norfolk Academies Group, entered five groups: the Concert Band, Cantabene, Kingsmen, Year 7 Choir, and the Gliders.
Around 150 students from Year 7 to Year 13 took part.

Other participating schools included Clenchwarton Primary, Heacham Junior, Snettisham Primary, Walpole Cross Keys Primary, West Lynn Primary and St Clement’s High School. Pupils from the Windmill Federation also performed.
Robin Norman, head of music at Springwood High, said: "Anyone can enter through the Music for Youth programme."
He described the experience as "inspirational", offering valuable performance opportunities and the chance to hear peers throughout the day.
The festival has been held at Springwood since around 1995.
