Gina Cole, who has led the organisation for the past six years, said it was time for "new blood" to bring fresh ideas and energy to the role.

Ms Cole said: "I think an organisation like this needs new blood to keep it moving forward and evolving.

"I’ve hugely enjoyed my time with the foodbank, but it has changed enormously in the six years I have been here.
