The Fakenham Easter Sunday Festival of Running features a closed-road 5km run, 1km fun run and a Toddle 'n' Trike event for under-fives.

Richard Crook from organisers Active Fakenham said: "These exciting new additions came after a local business suggested a team event for the 5k race."

Pitched as a family-friendly day out, the festival will also include a barbecue, free face painting, massages, stalls and other activities.

This year sees the introduction of a special team shield for the 5k, and a dedicated showcase for community groups.

Mr Crook said: "The 5k Team Challenge Shield is currently being made from recycled oak by members of the Fakenham Community Shed."

Active Fakenham says the event celebrates the town’s strong community spirit while encouraging participation, health and fun.
