The Great Aylsham Snail Race is set to take place on Saturday, August 2, at the Slow Food stall in the food and craft market outside Aylsham Town Hall.

Organisers say participants are already training their snails on a strict diet of lettuce, spinach, and other plants.

The race track has been steam-ironed in readiness for the event in which individuals and businesses will slug out it out for two titles.
