Jamie Carter, 30, was taking part in a noisy anti-meat protest at the Cranswick Country Foods plant in Watton in April last year.

He was forcibly removed by police and later arrested after he brought the lorry to a halt by stepping into its path holding a placard.

He has denied wilfully obstructing the highway and resisting a police officer who tried to remove him.

A trial at Norwich Magistrates’ Court was shown extensive CCTV footage of him attempting to stop the lorry for 16 seconds as it inched forwards before being removed by police officers in a scuffle that saw them fall to the floor.
