Appearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court she did not enter a plea to the alleged offence which carries a sentence of up to nine years in prison.

District Judge Matthew Bone committed the indictable only offence to Norwich Crown Court with a plea and trial preparation hearing set for May 19.

The 35-year-old, of Anchor Corner in Little Ellingham, near Attleborough, is also accused of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour between 2023 and 2025, criminal damage and assaulting occasioning actual bodily harm on two occasions in 2023 and 2024.

She was given bail with conditions banning contact with Mr Wyeld.

Wyeld and her family set up the Little Ellingham Vintage Working Show in 2002 attracting thousands of people annually with its heavy horse displays, steam engines, vintage tractors and ploughing classes.

Each year it raises around £6,000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
