William Coomber was staying at The Waverley Hotel in Great Yarmouth when he says the insects gorged on his blood.

He was on a bank holiday night away with his brother, sister and his niece and nephew.

The 39-year-old from Harwich in Essex did not notice or even feel the bug bites on his body until Sunday evening when he began to feel "uncomfortable".

"I only had two or three hours of sleep that night before work and had to drive for nine hours the following day, the pain is honestly unbearable," Mr Coomber said.
