The incident occurred Sunday, July 13 between 5.30pm and 6pm in Ashman's Road, Beccles, when two men went to purchase a vehicle.

While looking at the vehicle, oil was poured in the coolant and exhaust pipe, causing damage to the car.

Suffolk police believe this is a scam in an attempt to reduce the cost of the car.

They are asking the public to be mindful of who they invite to view their vehicles and monitor their actions at all times.
