Crews from the fire service and police were called to Cliff Park Primary Academy in Gorleston at 1.20pm.

In video footage pupils and staff could be seen sitting in a playing field watching smoke billowing in the air as the flames took hold on the roof of their school.

No children or staff were injured.

A statement from the school trust said: "Following a fire on site earlier today, we took immediate action in line with our robust protocols to safely evacuate the building and contact the emergency........
