Developers have applied for planning permission from North Norfolk District Council to convert four barns into seven homes in Skeyton, a village between Aylsham and North Walsham.

The proposal includes turning one of the barns at Beech Farm in Felmingham Road into three two-storey houses and the three smaller buildings into four single-storey properties.

A planning statement said that the majority of the barns within the yard are still used for general agricultural purposes, including the storage of machinery.

However, some of the buildings are redundant following the end of pig farming at the site.

The houses would all have two car parking spaces and gardens each if it is approved.

The council will make a decision on the application, which was submitted by R W Randell and Sons, in due course.
