Locals launch last-ditch fight to save 'cherished' landmark from the bulldozers

But people in Sheringham are determined not to see their brick bus shelter bulldozed without a fight.

Officials say the 1950s structure has to be knocked down and replaced with a modern shelter made from steel and glass.

But a petition to save the brick version has been launched, with more than 700 people supporting it.

The shelter, on Station Approach outside the North Norfolk Railway and near the town's modern station, features a mural of a steam locomotive by local artist by Colin Seal.

Norfolk County Council has ordered the structure be removed to make way for a wider redevelopment to create what it describes as a "travel hub".

The £350,000 scheme will also include a bike rack, a water........
