Landowner challenges council's decision over new homes bid in Norfolk village
Teresa Riches applied to South Norfolk Council to build five properties west of Low Road in Wortwell, a village between Harleston and Bungay, in October 2023.
The site is on grassland behind The Wortwell Bell, which reopened earlier this year.
But the council rejected the bid as the proposed development was seen to have “a detrimental impact” on the listed buildings nearby and was described as “an unacceptable intrusion” in the countryside.
