Beccles Lido and its new event company, Blue Events, launched its inaugural 12km wild swim on Sunday which saw 72 keen competitors take part.

The event began at the Waveney River Centre in Burgh St Peter where participants swam towards food stations in Aldeby and North Cove, before entering Beccles under the iron bridge.

Swimmers, who were individuals or part of a relay team, then finished the course at the lido in Puddingmoor.
