Bid for farm's slurry lagoon given go-ahead despite fears over 'noxious fumes'
David Utting had submitted the proposal to East Suffolk Council to create a clay-lined cattle slurry lagoon at Grove Farm in Vicarage Lane, Mettingham, near Bungay, earlier this year.
This was to allow for the storage of dirty water and run-off from nearby yards in the winter, before the contents were due to be spread on the fields during the drier months.
However, neighbours had raised concerns about the odour and "poisonous" gases that may be produced by the lagoon.
