All of the secret gardens in Norfolk opening their gates in July

And with secret gardens across Norfolk opening to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS) this month, visitors can take in everything they have to offer.

The NGS raises money for health and nursing charities through admissions and refreshments.

1. Hoveton Hall Gardens

Where: Hoveton Hall Estate, Norwich, NR12 8RJ

When: Friday, July 3, 10.30am to 5pm.

Price: £10 adults, £5 children.

This 15-acre garden features mature walled herbaceous and kitchen gardens, informal woodlands and a nature spy activity trail for younger visitors.

Refreshments are available at the Garden Kitchen Café and the site has wheelchair access.

Where: Bishopgate, Norwich, NR3 1SB

When: July 5, 1pm to 4pm.

Price: £5 adults, children free.

Enjoy a four-acre walled garden dating back to the 12th century, featuring yew-hedged herbaceous borders, lawns, specimen trees, rose beds, a meadow labyrinth, an organic kitchen garden, a herb garden and bamboo walks.

Refreshments will be served in aid of the Priscilla Bacon Hospice and it has wheelchair access.

Where: Near Litcham PE32 2QJ

When: July 15, 11am to 5pm.

Price: £8 adults, children free.
