£49.4m project to improve water supply sees fresh plans lodged
Barsham Water Treatment Works has been undergoing a project aimed to produce better quality drinking water for tens of thousands of homes since 2023.
Essex and Suffolk Water, part of Northumbrian Water Group, is funding the project, which is one of Suffolk's biggest ever investments in water supply.
And now the company has submitted a proposal to relocate and extend its control room at the site in between Beccles and Bungay as part of its "continued essential growth".
In a planning statement, the company said the extension is "necessary to facilitate the efficient supply of water for development growth".
