£330,000 art trail unveiled in town to celebrate local heroes and heritage
Great Yarmouth Borough Council has launched a sculpture trail with works commissioned by local, national and international artists to tell the town's story.
The route consists of 11 sculptures that focus on the area's history, including its arts heritage, its maritime and medieval history, and its pioneering work in transport and energy.
Borough mayor Carl Annison said: ''This free, open-air gallery helps tell our story - a town shaped by the sea, rich in medieval and maritime history, and alive with energy, creativity and community.
''Each piece reflects a different thread of our town's identity."

The trail launch began with the ceremonial unveiling of the Yarn with Ernie sculpture, created by Mark Goldsworthy in honour of the Great Yarmouth artist and potter Ernie Childs.
Mr Childs was born in the town’s Row 73 in 1947 and was celebrated for his maritime paintings that were inspired by the fishing industry.
He died peacefully in his sleep in 2019.
