It was after two male pedestrians were struck by a car in Barrack Street at around 1.20am on Christmas Eve.

One of the pedestrians died at the scene, while the other was taken by ambulance to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital with serious but not life-changing injuries.

Brica, of Heathgate, Norwich, had been due to be sentenced at Norwich Magistrates' Court on February 25 for sentencing in relation to driving with excess alcohol.

It is after he admitted the charge when he appeared before city magistrates on Boxing Day last year.

But sentencing in the case has been adjourned until May 20.

It is the only offence Brica currently faces as police are still investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash.

A spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary has previously confirmed he remains on bail until March 20 in relation to the death by dangerous driving investigation.

At the scene of the fatal crash on Barrack Street two single red roses were left on the pavement near to the junction of Bargate Court and opposite Norwich Puppet Theatre.

There was no note left with the two flowers or any other floral tributes in sight at the scene.

Neighbours living in Barrack Street near the Puppet Theatre say they were woken at 1.30am on December 24 by screaming and say they saw a man trapped under a car.

Kacper Malita, 22, who lives in a flat near the site, said he heard a “thud and then a loud scream”.

He added: "There was a man on the floor with his head cut on the pavement and another guy who was stuck under a car."
