Town plagued by sinkholes fear water firm won't cope with doubling of population

But people living in North Walsham say water services are already being pushed to the brink, with the town plagued by sinkholes and leaks in recent years.

Roads are repeatedly having to shut for repairs but fresh issues keep arising, leading to repeated roadworks disrupting businesses and residents.

At an overview and scrutiny committee meeting this week, Anglian Water representatives were grilled on ongoing problems across the district but issues in North Walsham became a key focus.

The water firm says it has one of the best records for repairing leaks in the country and that it spends millions of pounds to tackle the issue but locals in North Walsham say not enough is being done.
