Daniel Candon, a senior Conservative on Great Yarmouth Borough Council, was responding to a recent video posted by an account called Learning Canteen.

The profile, with more than 100,000 subscribers, compiled a list of the 10 seaside towns which have "fallen furthest" from their former glory and Great Yarmouth came in eighth place.
