Christopher Woods, who is from Shropshire, ran into trouble on his 66ft cruiser while sailing between Great Yarmouth and Reedham.

On a cold December day in 2024, his vessel, named Tauri, sank while being moved near Polkey's Mill and he is understood to have swam to safety.

The stretch of river is one of the most remote parts of the Broads and is known for facing strong winds and tidal flows and can be particularly bleak in the winter months.
