Farming firm seeks to double water abstraction in sensitive Broads area

H A Overton and Sons has applied to the Environment Agency to vary its licence, to allow it to increase the amount of water it takes from a borehole near Stalham.

It hopes to boost its annual 45,000 cubic metres of abstracted water to 100,000 cubic metres.

The borehole, near Hunsett Mill, lies close to the River Ant and is within a sensitive area struggling with water supply.
