North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) clarified comments made by an academic seconded to the authority, who said officers working in coastal management are having to take leave due to "cumulative stress".

Dr Sophie Day, a University of East Anglia researcher who is working for Coastwise - an NNDC scheme helping communities adapt to climate change - claimed colleagues were "sustaining mental health impacts" in their work helping communities.
