Steffan Aquarone, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk, has called for the facility, which was shut five months ago, to be reopened "urgently".

The station had to be closed because of structural issues and risks of cliff landslides.

Mr Aquarone said: "There must continue to be a lifeboat based at Sheringham, and I am pushing for a long-term solution, including funding for a rebuild if necessary.
