The Broads Authority have purchased Mallow Marsh, a 70 acre wetland between Barton Turf and Stalham along the River Ant.

It is on the opposite bank to Hunsett Mill - a Grade II listed former drainage mill built in 1860 which remains in good condition and is one of the most photographed mills on the Broads.

The BA used £450,000 of its capital grant this year to purchase the fen, which had fallen into "unfavourable condition".

As part of its plans to restore the wetland, officials will explore the possibility of making it accessible........
