Great Yarmouth Primary Academy and Nursery has got its first feedback from an inspection under Ofsted's new report card framework.

The report highlighted two areas of inclusion and personal development and wellbeing to be of a "strong standard".

The report said: "This is a highly inclusive school.

"The school fully includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities in every aspect of school life.

"Pupils are proud to attend Great Yarmouth Primary Academy."

The inspection report, carried out on 20 January, found achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, early years, and leadership and governance areas to be of "expected standard".

The primary school - which provides education for children aged 4 to 11 - also met the required safeguarding standards.

The new inspection framework, which has been in use since November 2025, uses a five-point scale to grade schools across several areas from exceptional - the highest grade - to urgent improvement - the lowest grade.

There were not any areas in the report which were listed as needing attention or requiring urgent improvement.

Overall absence in the school across all pupils in 2024/25 was 7.1pc, above the national average of 5.2pc, however the report stated that "leaders have taken effective steps" to address this which are "having a positive impact on pupils' attendance".

Garry Russon, principal at Great Yarmouth Primary Academy, said: "I am rightfully proud of the work that we do, creating an environment where our pupils feel safe and nurtured.

"The Ofsted inspection reinforces the fact that we are providing a space where pupils in our care can and will succeed.

"It spurs us on to look ahead to the future and continue to improve our provision and practice in service of our community."
