Tens of thousands flock to town for 'magical' beach festival
Record numbers flocked to Lowestoft over the weekend as First Light Festival 2025 attracted massive crowds.

The multi-arts festival - celebrating the first midsummer sunrise in Britain's most easterly town - featured dozens of award-winning performers, live music, DJs, poets, comedians, fashion parades, workshops, wellbeing zones, art, unique sculptures, sports, talks, science and activities to entertain everyone.

Picture: Mick Howes (Image: Mick Howes) The fifth First Light Festival - with the theme of 'From the Seabed to the Sky' - started in style with a spectacular walking parade that featured the Marina Samba Band, schools and community groups as well as Lowestoft's own giant puppets Sol, Neptune and Spectrum.
