Onlookers described "very distressing" scenes after the small pet dog was pinned down and attacked by larger dogs on a plot at the Newson's Meadow allotments in Lowestoft on Friday, July 4.

It happened around 4.30pm to 5pm after the dogs had accessed one of the plots at the allotments off Rotterdam Road.

A plot holder - who witnessed the dog being attacked on a neighbouring plot - had to chase off the larger dogs after hearing "a yelp" of pain from the pinned down Chihuahua.
